WHO WE ARE

First of all welcome to the Pana Christian Church.
We know that visiting a new church can be a little uncomfortable, so we want to help you feel at home. No matter what your background, experience or situation, you are welcome here.  Pana Christian Church is an open family of real people doing our best to serve God and others.  We’re not perfect, but we come together to find real meaning for everyday living, genuine caring, and hope for the future through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  We are an active and growing church, seeking to follow the Bible as our only source of authority.  We would love for you to join us in this endeavor.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

The Bible:
We believe that the Bible comes from God and is without error (John 10:35). Therefore, it is the authority for everything we do in the church (2 Timothy 3:16-17). The Bible is the truth (John 17:17).
The Beginning of Man and This World:
We believe that, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1) This world and man are not here by accident. Rather, God spoke and it came to be (Genesis Chapters 1 and 2).
Jesus Christ: We believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God (Matthew 16:16). We believe that He is the Savior of the world (John 4:42). We believe in His virgin birth (Matthew 1:22-23). We believe in His bodily resurrection from the dead (Matthew 28:1-10) and we believe that He is coming back to take His people to heaven (John 14:1-4).
Holy Spirit:
God gives the Holy Spirit to those who obey Him, repent of their sins, and are immersed (baptized) into Jesus (Acts 2:38, 5:32). Through the Holy Spirit, God gives us the power to live godly lives and guidance in following God’s will (Romans 8:1-4, 26).
Hell:
We believe that hell is a real place of eternal punishment for those who do not know or believe in God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus (2 Thessalonians 1:6-10; Matthew 25:30, 41,46 and Matthew 10:28).
Heaven:
We believe that heaven is a real place of eternal reward for those Christians who have been faithful servants of Christ to the end (Matthew 25:21). It is God’s dwelling place of rest, worship, and reward (Revelation 21:22-27, 22:1-5).

Minister,

Dave Altman
Raised in south central Illinois, I received a Bachelors in Preaching Ministry from St. Louis Christian College.  In April of 2014, God brought my wife Trista and our children Mitch and Jenna to PCC.  Since then, the church has become our family.  My greatest joy in the ministry is seeing people accept Christ and to see the body of Christ honor Him.  In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals and U of I Athletics.  If you are new to the area or are looking for a church to worship in please join us.

Worship Minister,

Jacob Trexler
Hello Everyone!  I am Jacob Trexler, a sophomore at Lincoln Christian University.  I am currently studying Communications with a minor in media arts and worship technology.  My extracurricular activities include competing in Men’s Soccer at LCU and being an active member of the Creative arts team on Lincoln’s campus.  I grew up here at PCC and I am excited to return as the part time worship minister!  PCC has blessed me in a lot of different ways, and I could never thank the church enough.  God has big plans for this church and I cannot wait to be a part of His movement.

   Student Minister,                                                                                                                                                Luke Nash

I was born in Decatur, Illinois, and am currently attending Lincoln Christian University, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies. I thoroughly enjoy watching Chicago sports (Go Cubs Go), as well as playing basketball and leading worship whenever possible. My greatest desire for the youth program at Pana Christian Church is to help develop young men and women who are equipped to understand who God is for themselves, and are passionate about spending the rest of their lives learning His character and leading others to do the same. We want to make disciples who make disciples.
